Doesn’t get any better when you do have kids. Oh – you have a baby? Wait til you have two! Oh – you have two toddlers (as they scream on the Target floor) wait until they are teenagers. Oh – you look like you aren’t sleeping. Wait until they move to Hong Kong and you stay up all night worrying you’ll miss their phone call. That is love. Then there’s the crazy judgement from grandparent types. I was once scolded in a restaraunt for feeding my 6 month old baby baby food. “By the time my kids were that age they could eat french fries!”. It never ends

My “favorite” is another “Just wait…,” but the opposite of the others: Just wait until you have kids. Then you will be able to fully appreciate this wondrous gift called life. The world is empty and insignificant if you don’t have babies. Seriously. MEANINGLESS.

As I sit here on a Friday night, I’m thankful that I can sleep in until noon tomorrow if I want to. I know am one of the few lucky ones with that privilege and promise to cherish it. And give thanks to the baby Jesus wearing a tuxedo shirt.
